hello!

samantha june creative

I taught myself how to metalsmith almost 20 years ago out of a desire to wear jewelry that I couldn’t find anywhere. I’ve always designed pieces that I would want to wear myself… that feel like they were pulled out of a special box and passed down to you from a wild woman of grit and worth. That make you feel like you have ancient wisdom when you wear them.

I recycle sterling silver whenever possible and all of my designs are handmade, by me, in my New York studio. I take pride in the stones that I use. Most of them I purchase from the actual lapidist (stone cutter) and I’m super picky.

I grew up in the fields and rivers of Oregon, the Bay area of California and then the Suburbs of New Jersey. College was in the South and then there were the 10+ years of traveling the country, back and forth every way possible. My designs are a compilation of all the inspiration I found while traveling. The grit of the backroads, the ease of the little towns tucked into valleys and the wow factor of coming over a hill and being hit with the open sky. To wear on wild adventures, to wear barefoot while crossing rivers, to wear while you slowly sip at the end of the day, with gratitude.

I am so fortunate to have made my living as an artist for most of my adult life. I was a glass blower for a few years before I found metalsmithing and these days I am also a photographer. My daughter is by far the best thing I’ve ever made and she is my why. I can’t believe I made such a rad kid.
